Welcome!

Bucks County Orchid Society welcomes any and all who enjoy orchids!

No need to be an experienced grower, we’ll teach you!

Who We Are –

The Bucks County Orchid Society (BCOS) is a small group of orchid enthusiasts that meet ten times a year in southeast PA to share ideas, experiences, and knowledge about orchid growing. Our membership includes beginners, experienced hobbyists, commercial growers, and AOS judges, who grow their orchids on windowsills, under lights and in greenhouses. Many bring in blooming plants for the show table. Most meetings feature a knowledgeable speaker and a plant raffle.

We are an affiliate of the American Orchid Society (AOS), participate in native orchid conservation projects, and coordinate our activities with other regional AOS affiliates.

Meetings –

Meetings are open to the public, and are held on the third Thursday of the month (except July and August) at 7:30pm, at :

Churchville Nature Center
501 Churchville Lane
Churchville, PA 18966

Come Join Us!

Show Table –

Each month, our members bring in blooming plants to share, and the range of genera represented is quite broad.  The plants are separated into orchid families and are judged by a group of members, and maybe with a guest speaker, and points assigned for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each category, grouped as “greenhouse” or “windowsill” growers.  At the end of the year, awards are given for the top presenters in each category.

Silva Orchids Culture Day and Sale

 Friday, April 27th & Saturday, April 28    10:00am – 5:00pm

Learn how to properly pot your orchids. We will discuss your plants and show you why we are handling your orchids in a certain way. You will see why we select a certain potting mix for your plants, if they need to be treated for pests and possible disease, and why we would divide a plant, or leave it alone entirely. It is a lot of fun, so come and enjoy a great day.

NOTE: this is not a scheduled lecture, but an on going discussion at the potting bench, about the plants which people have brought to be repotted.

First two plants 7” and under are free

$5.00 and up per additional plant
